Well, it has been almost 2 weeks since I updated the site. We took a break and let things kind of drift around
here. Since we last posted info a lot has happened and all is very positive.
As you know from my last post we all felt like we were part of a sleep deprivation experiment. Well, that feeling
is almost gone as Hanna has decided to sleep a bit more at night. At first it was bad as she just could not adjust to
the time zone change. We also think that she was still afraid that if she went to sleep that she would wake up and be
some place different. She would fight sleep and force herself to stay awake. Debbie was totally exhausted from
rocking and holding her for hours trying to get her to go to bed. So I tried to help by picking her up and singing "Rockabye
Baby" about 6000 times. Well, it worked!! She went to sleep about 10pm and slept until about 2 or 3 and wake up
hungry and tired. So we started bringing her into our room and letting her watch Big Bird Goes to China. I can
repeat that movie word for word:) But it was worth it to get a couple of hours extra sleep. Finally this week
she has started staying in her crib all night and putting herself back to sleep. She still needs more sleep but is doing
much much better.
We are doing better too as we finally are getting caught up from being in China for 2 weeks. If is amazing how
much can accumulate in just a short period of time.
Debbie is still taking Hanna to school with her most days and she has a great time running down the halls and playing
peek-a-boo with everyone who will stop and look at her.
She has been trying to push her stuffed bear down the halls in the big stroller and it was just too much for her.
So at the mall last week Debbie bought her a toy stroller to put her bear in and roll him around. Well, she took one look
at that little stroller and about fainted. She thought we were going to put her in it! After assuring her that it was
not for her to ride in we took Bear and placed him in the stroller and she got a big smile on her face and took off running
down the mall laughing. So far she goes everywhere with that stroller and loves it.
We are finally establishing a routine for her and it helps a lot. She knows that at bed time she is going to get
a bath and then a story and then rocking and then sleeping. So she expects that and it helps her cope with all the newness
around her.
I will say this...Hanna is not afraid of anything. The dogs were barking at her and she just walked right up to
the fence and barked right back at them. She will go anywhere and once she warms up to people she will let them interact
with her and has a great time.
Well, that's it for now. I will try to update the site weekly and post more pictures as we are picking up all our
photos tomorrow night.
Take care and stay tuned.
