Another fun day in China. Today we went to a temple that used to be the family home of the Chen Family. Beautiful
buildings and gardens. This family must have been very wealthy.
After lunch we went shopping in a huge mall and Debbie found more cute shoes for Hanna (Min Min) in the bargain
basement. Amazing prices and really cute shoes and clothes. Of course everyone stared at me and pointed...I
must seem huge by their standards. I am 6' 7" tall. And the kids come up to me and smile and laugh and
point. Lots of Chinese took pictures of me, probably to show the folks at home this huge American. I figure I am on
about 6000 Chinese refrigerators at this point!
Well, Mimi had to do it....she bought Hanna some Squeaky Shoes which are the rage for little kids in China. Every
time Hanna takes a step she squeaks and then she hits the toy bear on the head and it starts singing so it's squeak squeak
sing sing.....squeak squeak sing sing...I am losing my sanity and Mimi just laughed.
Neilson has found a friend...a 13 year old boy two rooms away who loves to do the same stuff as Neilson so we have not
seen him all day. All we have to do is feed him and give him money and he is as happy as a clam.
Tomorrow we go to the Sun Yat Sin Memorial and then lunch at Pizza Hut and more shopping.
Hanna is asleep now... it is getting easier to get her to go to sleep as we have established a kind of routine.
Debbie plays lullabyes and reads her books and then shows her the pictures of Mama and Daddy and Neilson and Mimi and Erik
and Angie and she repeats all the names. She has trouble with Neilson but tonight she said Erik and Angie as plain as
day. What a little sponge. She will be speaking English in no time.
I will have to be short tonight as I am stuck with the slowest Internet connection on the planet. Love to all and
more to come
Stay tuned.....
