Sunday, Sept 22

Well, we discovered that our new little girl is definitely not a morning person.  She wakes up and plays quietly in her crib and slowly gets her act together.  If you interrupt her during this ritual she gets upset.  But as soon as she is awake she wants to go and do stuff, anything as long as it involves motion.

We slept late today so Min Min (she insists that her name is Min Min) could catch up.  She is in a great mood and really enjoyed our lunch. We had Dim Sum for lunch. This is a very traditional Chinese lunch on Sundays and it consists of several small dishes and soup and dessert.  Very good food.  And Min Min (aka Hanna but she won't admit it) just ate and ate and ate.  She loves to eat and do it all herself.  And when she makes a mess in front of her or on her dress she picks up the napkin and cleans up!  I wonder how long that will last.

After lunch we went shopping for childrens clothes at a wholesale shopping district and the deals were unbelievable.  Debbie bought 2 Denim Jumpers, 2 dresses, 3 sweaters, and 3 pairs of leather shoes for a grand total of $56 US.  When you realize that this would have been about $400 US in the states you appreciate how many hands these clothes must pass through before you see the item in your local Gap for Kids.  We are at the beginning of the food chain and really are taking advantage of the savings.

Now we are relaxing in our room and Min Min (I have given up on calling herHanna for the moment) is busy playing with toys, smiling, laughing, giggling and acting like a regular 2 year old.

She makes eye contact with me now and loves to play little games with her toys.  Her favorite is to pick up her little beanie baby panda and throw it at me.  I catch it and throw it back.  She mimics everything we do and is already saying words in English.  At this rate she will be talking in no time.

She loves her new shoes and promptly put them on the wrong feet and walked around the room showing off.  We are also experiencing a few temper tandrums but they do not last long.

Well, we are off for dinner...stay tuned.

Back in the room trying once again to get the little whirlwind to bed.  She is definitely a night person as she gets her motor running and can't seem to turn it off.  So Debbie put the toys away and told her it was time for bed by showing her a flash card of a baby sleeping. So Min Min took the flash cards and hid them behind her back!

Then she climbed off the bed and started to head toward the toys on the bureau.  Debbie said NO and she turned around with this little grin, walked over and gently kissed Debbies toe!  And then smiled as if to say "so how much time will that much cuteness buy me"

Well, what can you do but laugh and marvel at how this little girl from an orphanage halfway around the world knows how to wrap her new parents around her little finger.

I will post some more pictures tonight so check out the photo page.
