This child loves watermelon!  At breakfast every morning she eats 2 big bowls of watermelon pieces and not much else.

This morning we took some more polaroids of the waitresses in the dining room who have been so nice all week.  They loved getting a picture with Hanna and were all smiles.  That polaroid has been the coolest thing on the trip.  We are getting people who are familar (like waitresses and floor attendants) to sign Hanna's When You Were Born in China book.  We now have a lot of Chinese writing that we can't read but will have to get translated when we return to the states.

Everyone is so nice to us it is really unbelievable.  You do not find any of this in American hotels.  The people here seem to enjoy their jobs and look for ways to help out.  And the little things like getting our laundry done for $7 or hot towels passed out before each meal are luxuries we are not used to at home.

Today is packing day so we are in the room getting ready to go to Guangzhou this afternoon.  I am getting antsy to move on and get the airplane ride over with.  The last time was stressful as we almost missed our plane. I hope this time goes better.

After breakfast we took Hanna up to the 21st floor again to play with the toys and she was very quiet and did not seem interested until other kids showed up from the group.

Penelope is a little older than Hanna and they were having a great time playing with the toys.  Hanna really started to brighten up and smiled and played and seemed normal again.  She goes through periods of quiet sadness and crying and then perks up and plays so we are making progress.

She still will not make eye contact very much so Debbies idea of flash cards to communicate went out the window. In order to use sign language it does require the child to look at you:).......oh well

I have loaded some pictures on the photo page that I took with my digital camera on my Palm Pilot but the resolution is not very high.  You will have to wait until we get home and scan a bunch to see more of the trip.

That's it for now.  Will pick up again in Guangzhou at the White Swan Hotel.

Love to all and stay tuned
