Paperwork was a breeze. I am sure not everyone experiences this but we had no problems at all. Everyone at
the government offices was so nice.
We got to spend some time with Hanna's caretaker from the orphanage and found out her best friend's name, and other details.
They even gave us a later health report than the one we got with our referral.
Hanna did not get upset at seeing her caretaker again. That was a surprise! She looked right at her but did not try
to get out of Debbie's arms. I think Hanna and Debbie have started to bond in a way that only mothers and daughters
can understand. She has turned her attention from me to Debbie and that is good.
The one thing to remember if you are a dad on one of these trips is not to take it personally when your daughter
ignores you. She probably has not seen many male figures in her life and you will not bond with her until later.
Today was a busy but fun day.
After the paperwork we went to a huge supermarket to do a little shopping for formula and bottled water. We bought
the brand that Hanna had in the orphanage. We also found out that for the first 6 months she was in foster care.
Then was moved into the main orphanage so she has had to break a relationship already.
After returing to the hotel we had dinner at a Grand Buffet and Hanna was still doing her best to ignore me. Then
I ordered a bowl of ice cream, gave her a taste and she started to make eye contact and open her mouth for more. Probably
never had ice cream before. She ate the whole bowl! Of course as soon as she polished off my ice cream she went
right back to ignoring me. She considers me to be a donkey to carry her things, and a servant to give her treats.....I
think she was decended from a long line of princesses:)
She slept all night and is really doing great.
