Saturday Sept 14
We Made It!!!!
After finding each other in the San Francisco airport and flying for 15 hours we are in the Kowloon Hotel in Hong Kong. Very very cool. This place feels like Louisiana as it is hot and muggy. Debbies's mom should feel right at home. We are all tired but happy that we are here safely. The flight was actually not bad as Singapore Airlines is wonderful and they took good care of us. The food was great, we got to watch tons of first run movies on individual screens and we still managed to sleep for a few hours.

Joe Sy met us at the airport and has been a wonderful guide. He even loaned us 100 Hong Kong dollars to eat at McDonalds. We took pictures of Hong Kong harbor and walked along the sea wall. This place is really beautiful.

Today is Saturday so it took us 2 days to get here as we left on Thursday. We crossed the International Dateline so that made us lose Friday in the process...very strange.

We got Faye and Neilson settled in their hotel and now Debbie and I are meeting Joe at noon to take us to the train station where we will leave Hong Kong for Guangzhou. We stay at the White Swan hotel tonight and then meet up with the other families tomorrow morning. We will then fly to Changsha and check into a hotel there. And then get Hanna. Wow!
We will keep you updated as we go.
